Four years of design and development by a small team of dedicated tax professionals and software designers at Pacific Northwest Tax School have culminated in the release of OpenCampus an online learning management system (LMS) that delivers comprehensive educational courses and continuing education programs to tax professionals over the internet.
The partnership will provide Clark College students with immediate access to Pacific Northwest Tax School's interactive online learning management system which features lecture video recordings, Q&A forums and customized student manuals.
A leader in online tax education programs, the School consistently achieves high pass-rates at state board exams with over 90% of graduating students passing state competency exams on their first attempt.
2011 is the beginning of a new era for the tax preparation industry as the IRS mandates registration, testing and tax compliance background checks on paid tax return preparers for the first time in history. Many paid preparer are worried they may not be able to pass IRS mandated competency exams which are scheduled to begin this summer.
New IRS rules require an estimated 900,000 to 1.2 million CPAs, Enrolled Agents and unenrolled tax preparers to register and undergo screening by IRS. While many tax preparers may be worried about the new IRS regulations, Pacific Northwest Tax Service is welcoming them, believing they will protect tax payers by weeding out incompetent and unethical preparers.
