Wyoming CPE Requirements

Pacific Northwest Tax School programs meets CPE requirements of the Wyoming Board of Accountancy. Final authority for CPE rests with the Wyoming Board of Accountancy. It is the responsibility of each CPA to verify whether CPE programs and sponsors meet Board requirements. A summary of CPE requirements and contact information for the Wyoming Board of Accountancy is provided below.

Reporting Period: 12/31

Sponsor Information: A program qualifies as acceptable continuing education if it is a formal program of learning which contributes directly to the professional competence of a certificate holder in the practice of accounting or is directly related to the holder’s field of business and verification of attendance or completion can be provided by a third party.

CPE Requirements: 120 hours every 3 years. At least 66% (80 of the 120 credit requirement or 40 of the 60 credit
requirement) of the credits shall be earned in fields of study that directly relate to a holder’s field of business in the following Code A areas:
(A) Accounting & Auditing;
(B) Business Law;
(C) Administrative Practice;
(D) Regulatory Ethics;
(E) Business Management & Organization;
(F) Finance (Financial Planning);
(G) Management Advisory Services ;
(H) Marketing;
(I) Economics;
(J) Specialized knowledge and application;
(K) Statistics;
(L) Taxes; or
(M) Computer Science or software applications.

Ethics Required: All certificate holders who maintain their principal place of business in Wyoming are required to complete, as scheduled by the Board and at least once every three year continuing education period, four credits of continuing education in ethics as approved by the Board. Credits may be earned at separate courses but all four credits must be completed in the same calendar year. To qualify for credit, the course must include a Wyoming statutes and rules element and other topics such as ethical reasoning or standards of professional conduct including those of other applicable regulatory bodies with a passing score of 80%.

Self-Study: Self-study programs are accepted if they meet Wyoming Board of Accountancy standards. Pacific Northwest Tax School's self-study courses meet these standards.
