Pacific Northwest Tax School programs meet North Dakota Board of Accountancy CPE requirements. Final authority for CPE rests with the North Dakota Board of Accountancy. It is the responsibility of each CPA to verify whether CPE programs and sponsors meet North Dakota Board requirements. A summary of CPE requirements and website link for the Board is provided below.

Sponsor Information: North Dakota does not require sponsor registration. The main factor in determining if a program qualifies as CPE is if it is a formal program of learning which contributes directly to professional competence. Formal programs requiring class attendance qualify only if:

  • An outline is prepared in advance and preserved;
  • The program is at least 1 CPE credit hour in length;
  • the program is conducted by a qualified instructor;
  • A record of registration/attendance is maintained.

Reporting period: 6/30

CPE Requirements: 120 hours of acceptable CPE in the immediate preceding three reporting periods and at least 20 credit hours each year.

Ethics Requirement: None.

Self Study: Self-study programs may qualify only if:

  • A syllabus is prepared in advance and preserved;
  • The program is at least 1 CPE credit hour in length;
  • It is offered / administered by an appropriate sponsor;
  • Program materials are prepared by qualified authors;
  • Records of registration and completion are maintained.

Programs offered by NASBA CPE Registry sponsors qualify, but registration is not mandatory. Pacific Northwest Tax School is a NASBA CPE Registry Sponsor, our self-paced online and correspondence courses are qualifying CPE.
